2022 was an exciting year for W.I.S. Logistics—industry changes, new clients and team members, and a logo rebrand that reflects a stronger, strategic vision for future growth.

Recently, Vice President Leo Finley took time to reflect on the past year, also sharing what he foresees for W.I.S. Logistics and the industry in 2023.

Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you do in your role as Vice President at W.I.S. Logistics?
I provide the General Manager and the leadership team with the necessary tools they need to run daily operations, and make sure the team has an awareness of the opportunities and challenges that may be coming ahead.

Some of my other focuses are the financial stability of the company and employee satisfaction. These are vital to ensure that we provide the great service our customers expect, and to ensure that everyone at W.I.S. Logistics is happy in their role.

With a dynamic economy and much upheaval within the supply chain, how does W.I.S. Logistics stand out and appeal to those looking for a third-party logistics provider?
W.I.S. Logistics stands out by providing personalized care and customized logistics solutions to our customers. They can rely on us for information they need on their shipments.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing the industry in 2023?
The biggest challenge is the uncertainty of what this year is going to bring. However, rather than worry unnecessarily, we have opted to take a positive approach on the year and are planning for growth in 2023.

W.I.S Logistics offers 4PL: Enterprise Logistic Solutions. Can you tell us a little more about that and why that is beneficial to a customer?
4PL stands for 4th Party Logistics, and it benefits companies that want to reduce costs and/or are struggling with obtaining and retaining employees in the shipping department. Our 4PL customers previously encountered roadblocks with keeping up with tracking freight, notifying customers when freights were delayed, and filing claims.

At W.I.S., we provide a team of seasoned logistics specialists for a fraction of the cost, also eliminating the worry about downtime. By bringing on a 4PL from W.I.S. Logistics, our clients are now able to track every shipment daily, file and resolve every claim, and work with freight coordinators and customer service on all shipments.

Ultimately, we eliminate barriers so that our clients can focus on their companies. If you are in the Greater Milwaukee Area and find yourself in need of help in shipping, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

You are proud of the culture and people of W.I.S. Logistics. How would you describe the most important values of the company?
Our values are the road map to why W.I.S. Logistics stands out and is successful. “We don’t do what’s easy; we do what’s right.” Our core values—Service, Family, Responsible, Driven, and Happy—are integral to how we serve our customers and what we call: “The W.I.S. Logistics Experience.”

As we begin 2023, what are some of your goals for W.I.S. Logistics in this next year?
I would like to increase shipment volume and gain another 4PL customer. We are growing quickly and would like to extend our services to potential customers who would benefit from the services we provide.

It’s that time of year for resolutions. Is there a personal goal that you want to achieve in 2023?
My goal is the same as every year—health and safety for myself and my family. Oh, and to catch more fish!
