It’s that time of the year again, our Annual Give them the Bird Turkey Drive is already in full swing! Each turkey donated makes a big difference for a family in Waukesha County. Join in and help us raise our goal of $16,000 donated turkeys for the Food Pantry of Waukesha County. We’ll handle the logistics and make sure the turkeys are purchased, donated and delivered. That’s a whole lotta bird! Let’s do this!
Our 2016 ‘Give Them the Bird’ turkey drive was a great success! I want to take a moment to thank our corporate and individual supporters who helped us reach our goal of fundraising $14,000. We coordinated the fundraising, purchasing, and delivery of 1400 frozen turkeys plus we made two deliveries to the Food Pantry mid-November. We donated a total of 1,100 turkeys to the Food Pantry of Waukesha County! This was an amazing result. Each turkey serves a family of four – which means 4,000 meals for families that otherwise would not have had such a nutritious holiday meal. We couldn’t have done this without you!

MILWAUKEE — W.I.S. Logistics, a family-owned third-party logistics company, is still moving freight this fall, but it’s also moving turkeys.
That’s because the business is hosting its 6th Annual Turkey Drive for the Food Pantry of Waukesha County. The event, known as the annual “Give Them the Bird” turkey drive, has the goal of raising a best-ever $14,000 to buy 1,077 turkeys. WIS Logistics CEO Jon Teraoka has been leading the effort, as he’s working with other area CEOs toward the goal. In November, once the funds have been raised, the company will purchase the turkeys and deliver them using its own trucks.
“Each year, we look to raise the bar to help feed more people in our local community,” said Teraoka. “It’s a tremendous effort by everyone involved.”
Last year, the Food Pantry of Waukesha County gave away 1,400 turkeys and fixings for Thanksgiving. Every year, WIS Logistics volunteers for and commits to over 35 charities, including over $60,000 in donations over the past five years to the food pantry.
